A light-heavyweight fight between Carlos Ulberg and Volkan Oezdemir has been announced for UFC Fight Night 248 in Macau, China on November 23rd.
The 33-year-old Ulberg is one of the division’s in-form fighters at the moment, having won his last six fights in a row.
It wasn’t always going so well for Ulberg as he was actually KO’d by Kennedy Nzechukwu in his UFC debut back in early 2021, but since then he’s made his mark with a string of impressive performances.
Along the way he’s racked up four wins via strikes and one by submission, including a 12 second KO victory over Alonzo Menifield last time out that’s taken him to No.10 on the 205lb rankings.
Ulberg will now take a step up in competition though against the No.6 ranked Oezdemir.
The 35-year-old Oezdemir is a former title contender who has managed to move past a disappointing 1-3 run between 2020-2022 by stringing together back-to-back 1st round finishes against Bogdan Guskov and Johnny Walker by submission and KO respectively.
Ulberg vs. Oezdemir joins a growing UFC Macau card that will be headlined by a bantamweight fight between Petr Yan and Deiveson Figueiredo, as well as the Road To UFC Season 3 finals and another newly announced fight between Yan Xiaonan and Tabatha Ricci.
