Felice Herrig vs. Karolina Kowalkiewicz Rematch Set For UFC Fight Night 207

A women’s strawweight rematch between Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz has been announced for UFC Fight Night 207 in just a weeks time, June 4th in Las Vegas.

The two first fought back in 2018, with Kowalkiewicz emerging victorious on that occasion via a split decision verdict.

As it turns out the 36-year-old Kowalkiewicz hasn’t secured another win in the four years since, losing five fights in a row.

It’s a slump that began with a first round KO loss to Jessica Andrade later that same year, while unanimous decision losses against Michelle Waterson, Alexa Grasso and Yan Xioanan followed, while most recently she was also submitted via armbar by Jessica Penne.

Herrig can relate to that as her loss to Kowalkiewicz not only ended a four-fight winning streak, but also signalled the start of a three-fight slump of her own, with her other two defeats coming against Michelle Waterson by unanimous decision and and Virna Jandiroba by an armbar submission.

That was almost two years ago and Herrig hasn’t fought since after having to undergo a second surgery on a previously torn ACL injury.

Herrig vs. Kowalkiewicz 2 joins a UFC Fight Night 207 main card that will be fronted by heavyweight action as Alexander Volkov fights Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
