Ketlen Vieira vs. Macy Chiasson Set For UFC Fight Night 252

A women’s bantamweight fight between two of the division’s leading contenders Ketlen Vieira and Macy Chiasson has been announced for UFC Fight Night 252 at a location still to be confirmed on February 22nd of next year.

This fight was actually supposed to happen in January of this year, but was scrapped after Vieira withdrew due to an injury.

The 33-year-old Vieira’s title hopes suffered a blow last time out when she was beaten by Kayla Harrison on the scorecards early last month.

Despite that, wins over former champions like Miesha Tate, Holly Holm as well as a decision win against Pannie Kianzad over the past few years helps keep her at No.3 on the 135lb rankings heading into her next fight.

Also 33, Chiasson currently resides one spot below Vieira at No.4 on the bantamweight ladder.

She too has gone 3-2 in her last five fights, including back-to-back wins over Pannie Kianzad and Mayra Bueno Silva this year, with her other victory coming against Norma Dumont alongside losses to Raquel Pennington and Irene Aldana.

Vieira vs. Chiasson is so far the only fight attached to the UFC Fight Night 252 card, and at this stage doesn’t appear to have been earmarked as the main event, though that might chance in the coming weeks.
