A fight between Mackenzie Dern and Amanda Ribas has today been [pushed back a few weeks in the schedule to headline UFC Fight Night 249 in Las Vegas, which will serve as the promotion’s first event of the year on January 11th.
Dern vs. Ribas had previously been set to feature on the end of year UFC On ESPN 63 show in Tampa, Florida on December 14th, so they’ll now miss out on the chance to compete in front of a packed arena in favor of the more intimate UFC Apex facility, but will get the benefit of headlining a show instead.

Since then, Ribas has gone on to compile a 5-4 run, beating the likes of Luana Pinheiro, Viviane Araujo and Virna Jandiroba along the way, leaving her ranked No.8 in the flyweight division.
As for Dern, she’s went 7-4, including victories over Loopy Godinez, Angela Hill, Tecia Torres and Nina Nunes, which has left her two places above her rival at No.6 on the rankings.
