Oscar De La Hoya Praises Noche UFC But Also Disses Dana White

Boxing legend and promotor Oscar De La Hoya has a long-running feud with UFC CEO Dana White, but that didn’t stop him from attending the UFC 306 aka ‘Riyadh Season: Noche UFC’ event at the Sphere in las Vegas last weekend, and he’s admitted he was impressed by what he saw.

“OK guys, so UFC Noche: I was true to my word. I did attend last Saturday,” De La Hoya said at a press conference. “I sat in Turki’s box upstairs, and I have to be honest with you: It was beautiful. It was spectacular. It looked really cool. The production value was there. Everything was amazing. The fights were actually really good.

“So congratulations to Turki for footing the bill on this and making his celebration of the Mexican culture come to life.”

So far so good, but of course De La Hoya couldn’t resist then taking a dig at his rival White.

“And Dana, I know this wasn’t your idea or vision. Nothing ever is at the UFC. You’re the Fertittas’ errand boy.

“But I’m always honest and fair, and I want to praise the production. UFC Noche was a good time and I really enjoyed it.”

This is nothing new as there’s been bad blood between the two for years, but despite his public disdain for ODLH, White has never denied the star’s boxing prowess, and in fact he was included in the short film that played during the event at UFC 306.

“He’s an as**ole, but you can’t deny what he did,” White had said of De La Hoya at the UFC 306 post-fight presser. “The guy is a f*cking lunatic, but he was a bad boy in his day before he got his fake abs. Yeah, he used to have real abs.”
