Nate Landwehr adopted a more patient approach tonight at UFC On ESPN 43 against Austin Lingo, but as the second round progressed ‘The Train’ began to pick up a head of steam that would eventually lead him to a rear-naked choke submission finish.
Round One:
Jab lands for Lingo and he continues to pump it out. Three-piece combo for him. Lingo backing him up with his early pressure, but not landing cleanly yet.
Landwehr attempts a head kick. Lingo with a couple of punches. Landwehr lands a punch in close.
Straight punches land for Lingo. Lingo lands to the body and clinches up, but they break away.
Right hand for Landwehr. Now a head kick. Uppercut from Landwehr, but he’s bleeding significantly from a cut to his right eye.
Grazing hook from Landwehr. Straight punch from Lingo. Body kick from Landwehr and solid combination in return from Lingo.
leg kicks exchanged. Now straight punches from both parties and Landwehr attempts a head kick. Landwehr attempts a takedown, but Lingo escapes.
Jab for Lingo. He lands it again. Front kick to the body from Landwehr. Left hand for Lingo and a leg kick for Landwehr.
One-two for Landwehr and a probing front kick to the body. Lingo with some straight punches and tried to mix in a knee with it.
Round Two:
Lingo throwing straight punches and hooks in short combinations her to start the second round.
Front kick to the body for Landwehr. Jab for Lingo and a missed leg kick from Landwehr. Hard punch lands for Lingo.
Lingo connecting with the jab and works it to the body too. Kick to the body from Landwehr. Low kick for Landwehr and a counter punch from Lingo.
Push kick for Landwehr. One-two for Lingo. Counter uppercut and another punch behind it from Landwehr off a missed hook from Lingo.
Lingo with a couple of punches to the body. Three-piece combo for Landwehr. Now another hard punch and big kicks behind it.
Landwehr attempts a jumping knee. Now a kick and then goes for a takedown, bringing Lingo down in the center of the Octagon.
Lingo giving up his back and looking to stand but eating punches as he does so and his mouthpiece spills out. Landwehr then pounces on a rear-naked choke and forces the tapout at 4.11mins of the second round!
