Conor McGregor has called out Justin Gaethje after watching him win the ‘BMF’ title with a head kick KO finish of Dustin Poirier last night at UFC 291.
“Justin, I’ll slap you around,” McGregor wrote on Twitter.
“I’m the real bmf, he can fight for pennies if he wants but I want spirits, I call the shots, I’m in it to launch shots, f*ck chandler, you want it call for it.”
That snub of the man supposed to be McGregor’s next opponent, Michael Chandler, didn’t go unnoticed and his TUF coaching rival soon responded.
“This guy…. @TheNotoriousMMA,” Chandler wrote.
“Just pee in the cup @TheNotoriousMMA it ain’t that complicated…. #ufc291.”
Meanwhile, Chandler pivoted away from McGregor for a moment to pitch himself as a potential opponent for Gaethje next.
However, while Gaethje hasn’t responded to either McGregor or Chandler, he made it clear after his big win last night that he wants to fight for the lightweight title against the winner of Islam Makhachev vs. Charles Oliveira next.
“You know what I want to do next,” Gaethje said post-fight. “I want to fight for the world championship. I want to prove I’m the best in the world. Win, lose or draw, max effort is what you’re going to get from me. Luck and chance are a factor and I’m willing to roll the dice any f***ing day.”
