A featherweight fight between Arnold Allen and Movsar Evloev will take place at UFC 297 on January 20th in Toronto, Canada.
The 29-year-old Allen is coming off his first loss in the UFC, which came by unanimous decision against Max Holloway back in April.
Prior to that Allen had been on an impressive 10-fight winning streak in the Octagon, beating the likes of Calvin Kattar, Dan Hooker, Sodiq Yusuff, Nik Lentz and Gilbert Melendez along the way.
As such, Allen still holds the No.4 spot on the featherweight ladder heading into his next fight.
Now he’ll be taking on the 29-year-old Evloev, who currently holds an undefeated 19-0 record, with seven of those coming since his arrival in the UFC back in 2019.
Some of his most notable victories during that period include beating Dan Ige, Hakeem Dawadu and Nik Lentz, though one of his toughest fights came last time out when he went up against a short-notice opponent in the debuting Diego Lopes and had to dig deep to avoid being submitted several times before eventually winning on the scorecards.
Allen vs Evloev is currently the only fight booked so far for UFC 297, which will serve as the promotion’s first pay-per-view event of 2024.
