Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka has revealed that he’s considering dropping down to middleweight after earning a TKO victory over Aleksander Rakic at UFC 300.

“You want to know something, my last (fight) in Vegas, I didn’t cut weight. For me, my body felt the moment and the fight was coming and I naturally fell down in weight,” Prochazka said on Michael Bisping’s podcast.

“With good food and a good diet, for me, I think 84kg (middleweight) will be no problem and I’m still thinking about that and how I could feel against these guys at middleweight.”

The 31-year-old isn’t planning to do so right away though as he has unfinished business trying to win back the belt at 205lbs, and is well positioned to attempt that as the current No.1 contender.

Prochazka is not the only one who thinks he might be better off at middleweight in the long run though as even current 185lb champ Dricus du Plessis has said as much.

“Prochazka is too small, he needs to make the (move down to middleweight),” du Plessis told Shadow Banned. “I saw Prochazka’s weight at the UFC Performance Institute and I think he’s too small for (light heavyweight). He walks around lighter than I do.”
