Michael Morales TKO’s Neil Magny In 1st Round At UFC On ESPN 62

Michael Morales finished veteran campaigner Neil Magny inside of a round with ground-and-pound tonight at UFC On ESPN 62 after initially rocking him with a spinning elbow strike.

Round One:

The two fighters start to feel out the distance with some kicks from range. Morales checks a leg kick.

Now Morales lands his own leg kick. Another calf kick for him and Magny tries to respond with counter-punches that don’t connect due to his opponent backing up.

Morales looking to kick again, but Magny crashes the distance and goes into the clinch. Morales turns into the cage, allowing Magny to gets his back. He grapevines a leg as he looks to work a takedown. Morales stays up for now though.

Magny really putting his weight on Morales, but still not quite getting him to the mat. A few punches from Magny now.

Suddenly Morales throws a spinning elbow and seems to daze Magny with it as he staggers and falls to the mat. Morales gets on top and starts to drop down some ground-and-pound.

Morales standing over Magny now, then gets down into full mount. He’s landing big punches and Magny gives up his back. Magny’s flattened out and Morales hammers down more big punches until the ref steps in to save him from further punishment. Big TKO victory for Morales at 4.39mins of the opening round.
