Sean O’Malley Frustrated Sphere Spectacle Is Overshadowing Him Ahead Of Noche UFC

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley has admitted to being frustrated that the spectacle that is the ‘Riyadh Season: Noche UFC’ at the one-of-a-kind Sphere venue in Las Vegas is overshadowing his headlining fight against Merab Dvalishvili at the event.

“I’m very excited. Now that’s it’s like the last pay-per-view was last weekend. It’s always the next pay-per-view that’s being talked about. So now that that fight’s over, we got the Sphere coming up,” O’Malley told Michael Bisping.

“A little annoyed-ish about the promotion of the Sphere, the show,” the 29-year-old continued. “I’m the one doing the interviews, not the Sphere. Let’s promote Sean vs. Merab, the Sugar Show. I’m the one, let’s go baby. But it is what it is, the Sphere’s gonna be fuc*ing legendary, it’ll be epic, it’ll be cool. But yeah, I think these next few weeks, things are really going to start coming out.”

There has already been some criticism that there’s isn’t a stronger line-up for the UFC 306 event given that it’s been so heavily hyped and is reportedly going to be the most expensive event in UFC history to produce, but as one of the sport’s biggest stars at the moment there’s been no complaints that O’Malley is headlining and he’s sure to feature prominently in the promotion of the event in the coming weeks.
