Dana White took to Instagram Live last night to promote an upcoming Power Slap event, and while nobody cares about that, he did go on to hint that there’s news coming soon about a number of UFC stars, including Conor McGregor, Charles Oliveira, Michael Chandler, Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway.
“We talked about Conor today,” White revealed on the live stream. “We got Conor news coming up.”
McGregor has since responded to that with a winking emoji, adding fuel to the fire that his long-awaited comeback fight could be back on the cards either late this year or early next.
That wasn’t all though, as White also teased announcements for a number of other fighters.
“Oliveira vs Volkanovski? We’ve got some news coming out for both of those guys too real soon,” White said.
“We’ve got Conor news coming up, we’ve got (Charles) Oliveira news coming up, we’ve got (Michael) Chandler news coming up, we’ve got Max Holloway news coming up, all that good sh*t coming soon.”
Former lightweight champ Oliveira said earlier this week that he’s eager to return to action soon, so his name being mentioned makes sense, while ex-featherweight kingpin Volkanovski could be on the verge of a return in the coming months after taking an extended break after his last KO loss in February.
The only unexpected name in the bunch is Holloway as he’s already booked to fight Ilia Topuria for the featherweight title at UFC 308 on October 26th, so it’ll be interesting to see what news is in the pipeline for him.
