Nick Diaz is currently unable to compete in mixed martial arts while his lawyer attempts to get him out of a potential year’s suspension due to testing positive for marijuana following his last fight, but if you can’t wait to see him compete again then we’ve got good news for you.
According to his manager Cesar Gracie, Diaz will compete at the World Jiu-Jitsu Expo in California on May 12th, and though he originally had hoped to enroll in one of the event’s tournaments the organizers plan to place him in a BJJ superfight.
No opponent has yet been announced, but regardless of who it is, given the level of interest in everything Nick Diaz does these days this is sure to be keenly observed.
Diaz is of course a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt of some repute, though we don’t often see it displayed in the Octagon these days due to his impressive striking abilities which have helped him defeat a string of high-level opponents in MMA competition.
