Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz wasn’t successful in his bid to end his career with a win against Forrest Griffin in their rubber match at UFC 148 on Saturday night, but win or lose his place in the history books was never in doubt.
Just eight hours before his fight Ortiz was inducted into the UFC’s ‘Hall Of Fame’ at the UFC Fan Expo in Las Vegas, an honor which sees him immortalized along with eight other legends of the sport including his old rivals like Chuck Liddell, Ken Shamrock and Randy Couture.
Ortiz will now call it a career after 15 years fighting for the UFC where he produced an overall record of 16-11-1, including the longest reign as light-heavyweight champion with five consecutive title defenses.
