Ross Pearson Claims His Boxing Coach KO’d George Sotiropoulos During TUF: Smashes

Ross Pearson TKO’d his TUF: Smashes coaching rival George Sotiropoulos at ‘UFC On FX 6’ and then made a shocking revelation about what went on behind the scenes during the filming of the show.

According to the British fighter he and Sotiropoulos became embroiled in a Twitter argument about mid-way through the season which his assistant boxing coach Erin Beach got caught up in.

Off-camera on the set Sotiropoulos then “blind-sided” Beach which triggered him to fight back and resulted in the Australian fighter being knocked out.

Pearson says that UFC president Dana White “chewed them out” over the incident and that it’s the real reason there’s bad blood between himself and Sotiropoulos.

There’s been no official confirmation that this incident did indeed take place, but if it’s true then it’s the most dramatic incident ever to occur in the entire history of the TUF show.

It’s also quite concerning from a health perspective. Did Sotiropoulos take adequate time to recover afterwards? He had already been KO’d in his last fight against Rafael Dos Anjos in August 2011 and this incident would have occured about a year later in August / September of this year.

That only gave him a few months to recover before last night’s fight in which Pearson had him badly rocked multiple times before eventually finishing him by TKO in the third round.

I was worried about his ability to take a punch afterwards, and that was before learning of this other situation.

Now 35, Sotiropoulos has lost his last three fights, a remarkable turn of events after winning seven in a row in the Octagon prior to that, and you’d have to think that at the very least he’s going to have to take a long period of time off to fully recover, and may even wish to contemplate retiring.
