The 2013 World MMA Awards hosted by Fighters Only were held at the weekend and we’ve got all the winners for you below.
Chris Weidman’s back-to-back wins over UFC superstar Anderson Silva were deemed to be enough to earn him ‘Fighter Of The Year’ status, while, unsurprisingly, Ronda Rousey claimed ‘Female Fighter Of The Year’ as she kept her unbeaten record intact in style.
Travis Browne had a good night, earning both ‘Breakthrough Fighter Of The Year’ for his three-fight winnings streak, and also ‘Comeback Of The Year’ thanks to his front kick KO against Alistair Overeem which came after he came under heavy fire earlier in the bout.
Alexander Gustafsson was also a multiple award winner, scooping up ‘International Fighter Of The Year’ and ‘Fight Of The Year’ for his hard-fought five round war with Jon Jones.
Vitor Belfort’s devastating head kick stoppage of Luke Rockhold won him ‘Knockout Of The Year’ and Urijah Faber adds ‘Submission Of The Year’ to his trophy cabinet thanks to a rear-naked choke against veteran campaigner, Ivan Menjivar.
