UFC 184 Bonus Awards

Following last night’s UFC 184 event the recipients of the evenings $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

No ‘Fight Of The Night’ bonuses were awarded on this occasion, but there were instead four ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonuses up for grabs.

It goes without saying that Ronda Rousey secured one of them after dropping jaws around the globe with a whirlwind 14 second armbar win against Cat Zingano in the main event.

Jake Ellenberger’s north-south choke against Josh Koscheck helped get him back to winning ways at last as well as earning him an extra $50,000 in bonus money.

An impressive performance by Tony Ferguson that saw him first hurt Gleison Tibau on the feet and then finish him with a rear-naked choke in the opening round of their fight ensured he was also well worthy of a performance bonus.

And last but not least, Tim Means earned a bonus for steamrollering Dhiego Lima in the prelims, having him rocked several times before the TKO finish barely two minute into their fight.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
