Ronda Rousey has aimed another verbal jab at boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather jr as their unlikely war of words continues.
Her latest comments came after Mayweather mentioned her on ESPN’s Sportscenter recently, stating that, “I’ve yet to see any MMA fighter, or other boxer, make over $300 million in 36 minutes. When she can do that, then call me.”
Asked by TMZ to respond to his comment, Rousey was only to happy to oblige.
“It’s kind of funny, people bring up pay to me a lot,” Rousey said. “I don’t know if you saw the Floyd thing. He said, ‘when you make $300 million in a night, then you can give me a call.’ And I actually did the math, and given the numbers of my last fight, I’m actually the highest paid UFC fighter, and I’m a woman.
“I think I actually make two to three times more than he does per second. So when he learns to read and write, he can text me.”
Rousey has targeted the boxer several times before, making several references to the fact that Mayweather Jr has a history of domestic violence against women.
In a bizarre twist to that narrative, yesterday rumors spread alleging that Rousey is currently dating fellow UFC fighter Travis Browne, who just so happens to be suspended from the UFC at the moment while an investigation is carried out into allegations of domestic violence from his estranged wife, fitness model Jenna Renee last month.
A picture has emerged showing Rousey and Browne appearing to be seated together at a restaurant, though there’s no indication as to when it was actually taken. However, Browne’s wife Renee has since claimed that she was aware that the two were dating, stating on Twitter that, “I’m pretty disgusted…more so in her. But I’ve known this for a while.”
Neither Rousey nor Browne have commented on the rumors and it should be stressed this is all just speculation at this point. The only thing that is known for certain is that they do currently train under the same coach, Edmond Tarverdyan.
