A lightweight fight between Daron Cruickshank and Paul Felder has been announced for the already stacked UFC Fight Night 81 event in Boston on January 17th of next year.
These are two of the most entertaining strikers in the division to watch, but both have been struggling in the promotion of late.
Cruickshank is without a win in three fights after an accidental eye poke led to his fight with KJ Noons late last year being declared a no-contest, while since then he’s suffered back-to-back submission losses to Beneil Dariush and James Krause.
‘The Detroit Superstar’ shouldn’t have to worry about being tapped out this time around as Felder will be just as eager to stand and trade, though that’s not been working out too well for him of late, coming on the wrong side of decision losses to both Edson Barboza and Ross Pearson, though he did start the year with a spinning backfist KO victory against Danny Castillo.
If the card holds together then the Boston show should have one of the best ‘Fight Night’ line-ups we’ve seen in a while with a long-awaited bantamweight title fight between TJ Dillashaw and Dominick Cruz set to headline proceedings, while Eddie Alvarez Vs Anthony Pettis should be a cracking co-main event, while Travis Browne Vs Matt Mitrione also features on the main card.
