Ronda Rousey recently ruled herself out of a rematch with Holly Holm at UFC 200 in July, but in a new interview she confirms that she intends to do so later in the year.
“‘[I’ll fight] sometime later in the year,” Rousey told TMZ Sports. “They haven’t told me an exact date or location or anything yet.
‘It’s a decision we’re all going to make together but I’m waiting to hear from them [about] what options they’re going to give me. I haven’t got my options yet.’
That will no doubt be music to the UFC’s ears, especially since Rousey’s line-up of movie projects seems to be ever increasing, with a role in Tina Fey’s new movie ‘Do Nothing Bitch’ being added to the pile last week alongside the likes of ‘Mile 22’ with Mark Wahlberg, along with her leading roles in the ‘Road House’ remake and ‘My Life / Your Life’ which is based upon her life story.
Asked whether Holm would be her next opponent, Rousey (who was in Boston on Sunday night to watch her boyfriend Travis Browne defeat Matt Mitrione at UFC Fight Night 81) didn’t hesitate.
“Of course, that’s all I want,” Rousey replied.
Holm will make her first title defense against Miesha Tate in the co-main event of UFC 197 in March though, so it remains to be seen if the result of that throws a spanner in the works.
