Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 88 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
Earning ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors was the co-main event battle between Renan Barao and Jeremy Stephens. Formr bantamweight champion Barao started brightly in his featherweight debut, but Stephens began to land heavy shots as the fight wore on, including several nasty uppercuts that would have stopped lesser men. Barao frequently attempted to get his opponent down, but Stephens takedown defense was on point too, enabling him to keep the fight standing and win out by unanimous decision.
The first ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was handed to main event star Cody Garbrandt
