Jon Jones shed tears today at a hastily arranged press conference to talk about the USADA anti-doping violation that’s led to him being removed from his headline spot on Saturday night’s UFC 200 event.
Though he didn’t disclose the name of the metabolite that he tested positive for, Jones claimed that he’d never even heard of it before and stated that he’s against performance enhancing drugs and has never cheated.
The emotional former champion left the stage at one point, but later came back to field more questions from journalists, many of which he struggled to answer as he fought back tears.
However, while aware that he could potentially now be facing a two year suspension from the sport, Jones did vow to return to fighting no matter what happens next, and said that he’d try to make something positive out of his current situation.
Jones and his management team also clarified that his failed USADA test in no way impacts his current police probation.
