Yesterday, Jose Aldo claimed that he had spies in Frankie Edgar’s camp, which resulted in him making adjustments in his strategy to help the former featherweight champion beat him at UFC 200, but ‘The Answer’s’ coach, Mark Henry doesn’t feel that’s why he lost the fight.
When asked about Aldo’s claims by MMAfighting.com’s Ariel Helwani, Henry dismissed them, saying, “I don’t care. I couldn’t care less. I think we should have been able to adjust anyway.
“I believe I should have adjusted no matter what he did. I should have been smart enough to adjust. Right after the fight was over, there were 20 things I thought about that I should have adjusted.”
Henry is known as a coach who re-watches his fighters bouts multiple times, win or lose, but on this occasion he’s bypassed revisiting the Aldo Vs Edgar II fight.
“I still haven’t seen it,” Henry said. “I won’t watch it unless Frankie fights him again. I just messed up. I failed Frankie. That is my honest opinion.”
It’s not been all bad for Henry as of late though, as just two nights before UFC 200 he coached Eddie Alvarez to the lightweight title with a first round TKO victory over Rafael dos Anjos, while this weekend he’ll be back in the Octagon overseeing Edson Barboza’s co-main event fight with Gilbert Melendez at UFC On FOX 20.
