A lightweight fight between Ross Pearson and James Krause has been confirmed for the UFC Fight Night 99 event in Belfast, Northern Ireland on November 19th.
Pearson heads into this fight off the back of two losses in a row in the space of just a few weeks. He first took on former Bellator champion Will Brooks at the TUF 23 Finale on July 8th, losing out by unanimous decision, and then made a bold decision to step up to welterweight for a short notice fight with Gegard Mousasi just a few weeks later, again losing out on the judges scorecards.
‘The Real Deal’ falls back to 155lbs for his next fight, and a win will be a must, as looking at his form with a wider angled lens he’s won just four of his last 10 bouts, and hasn’t earned back-to-back victories inside the Octagon since 2013.
Krause on the other hand is coming off two wins in a row over Daron Cruickshank and Shane Campbell, leaving him with a 4-3 stint in the promotion to date.
Pearson Vs Krause joins a Belfast card that’s set to be headlined by a welterweight encounter between Gunnar Nelson and Dong Hyun Kim, while Ian McCall Vs Neil Seery is also scheduled for the show, which will air on the UFC Fight Pass service.
UFC Fight Night 99 will be the first of two events on November 19th, as UFC Fight Night 100 will air later the same night from Brazil with Alexander Gustafsson Vs Antonio Rogerio Nogueira fronting that card.
