Kyle Noke Announces Retirement After UFC Fight Night 101 Loss

Australian UFC veteran Kyle Noke has announced his retirement following UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne this past weekend.

“Thank you to the UFC and all the fans. It’s time to hang up the gloves,” Noke wrote on Twitter. “I’ve had a blessed life doing what I love. I wouldn’t change a thing.”

The 33 year-old came to the conclusion that it was time to hang up his gloves after losing out by unanimous decision to Omari Akhmedov on Saturday night.

That was the third defeat in a row for Noke, who had originally found his way into the UFC as a competitor on TUF Season 11, reaching the quarter-finals of the show in 2010.

Noke would go on to fight a total of 12 times in the Octagon and became a familiar face at the promotion’s Australian events, compiling a record of 6-6, while emerging victorious over the likes of Chris Camozzi, Charlie Brenneman and Peter Sobotta.

Noke had an extensive MMA career before reaching the UFC however, dating back as far as 2002, and included wins over future UFC fighters George Sotiropoulos and Brian Ebersole, plus a draw with Hector Lombard.

In total Noke brings an end to his 14 year run in the sport with a 22-10-1 record.
