Derrick Lewis Vs Mark Hunt Targeted For UFC Fight Night 110 Main Event

A fight between Derrick ‘The Black Beast’ Lewis and Mark Hunt has been targeted as the main event for UFC Fight Night 110 on June 11th in New Zealand.

Hunt is an obvious choice for the headliner given that he is from New Zealand, though the fight would come just three months after his brutal KO loss to Alistair Overeem at UFC 209.

Hunt has only won two of his last six fights in the UFC and with three of his losses coming via strikes there’s signs that the 42-year-old’s legendary chin may be starting to give way.

Nevertheless, he still hits as hard as ever and that should make for an exciting fight with Lewis, who also hits like a ton of bricks.

Unlike his opponent, Lewis is currently riding a wave of momentum that’s saw him win six fights in a row in the UFC, with all but one having been finished with his fists.

He’s taken out some notable fighters along the way, including Gabriel Gonzaga, Roy Nelson and Travis Browne to claim the No.6 spot in the division, just one place ahead of Hunt.

Lewis Vs Hunt is currently the only fight attached to the show, which will mark only the second time the Octagon has been to Auckland.
