John Dodson is set to return to action against Marlon Moraes at UFC Fight Night 120 in Virginia on November 11th.
Dodson confirmed the news himself on Twitter yesterday.
“The Lucky dude I get to fight is @mmarlonmoraes for the #ufcnorfolk let’s get excited,” Dodson wrote.
‘The Magician’ is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Eddie Wineland back in April, with his other recent fights since moving back up to bantamweight seeing him collect a TKO victory over Manny Gamburyan, followed by a split decision to John Lineker.
Now Dodson will face former long-time WSOF bantamweight champion Moraes, whose impressive winning streak for that promotion came to an end in his UFC debut in June when he came up on the wrong end of a split decision verdict against Raphael Assuncao.
Still, Moraes remains ranked at No.10 in the division, while Dodson is just two places ahead at No.8, so this is a fight that makes a lot of sense.
Dodson Vs Moraes will join a UFC Fight Night 120 card that is set to be headlined by a lightweight encounter between Anthony Pettis and Dustin Poirier, while Matt Brown will be fighting Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida faces Jim Miller, not to mention the likes of Andrei Arlovski and Nate Marquardt who will also be fighting elsewhere on the bill.
