A lightweight fight between Edson Barboza and Kevin Lee has been announced as the headliner for UFC Fight Night 128 in Atlantic City on April 21st.
The 32-year-old Brazilian Barboza comes into the fight off the back of a tough decision loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov back at UFC 219 in December that saw him badly beaten up on the mat by the dominant Russian grappler.
Prior to that Barboza had been enjoying a three-fight unbeaten stretch with wins over the likes of Anthony Pettis, Gilbert Melendez and Beneil Dariush and so he still holds down the No.4 spot in the divisional rankings ahead of his next bout.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Lee is also looking to quickly get back onto the win column after he suffered a submission loss to the division’s other top contender Tony Ferguson back at UFC 216 in October.
Like Barboza, Lee had also been on an extended winning streak prior to that, logging five victories in a row over the likes of Jake Matthews, Francisco Trinaldo and Michael Chiesa.
Barboza Vs Lee headlines a UFC Fight Night 128 show that also features fights like Uriah Hall Vs Paulo Costa, David Branch Vs Thiago Santos and Corey Anderson Vs Patrick Cummins.
