Alexander Emelianenko TKO’s Gabriel Gonzaga In Russia

A week after Fedor Emelianenko racked up a big win over Frank Mir in Bellator, it was his brother Alexander Emelianenko’s turn last night as he went up against former UFC veteran Gabriel Gonzaga at Russian Cagefighting Championships 2.

The 38-year-old Gonzaga was returning to action two years after announcing his retirement and he started well enough, managing to take Emelianenko down in the first round and land some ground and pound blows.

However, in the second round Emelianenko was able to stay at range and as Gonzaga’s energy levels visibly sapped he turned up the heat and began teeing off on him with hard punches, before a final knee upstairs sent the Brazilian sinking to the canvas for the TKO victory.

With the victory Emelianenko extended his current winning streak to four fights and improved his overall career record to 26-6.
