Michael Bisping has been serving as a UFC analyst for FOX Sports for some time now and he’ll now continue in that role when the promotion switches to ESPN in January, alongside some new responsibilities.
Bisping revealed on his ‘Believe You Me’ podcast this week that as well as his usual anaylst duties he’ll now also be serving as a color commentator for selected UFC events starting in 2019.
“I’m gonna be commentating UFC events going forward, so that’s interesting and exciting for me,” Bisping said on the latest episode of the show. “Just going back-and-forth with the UFC, gonna be obviously continuing with ESPN in the New Year. Got the first few dates, Brooklyn, Phoenix, London, so that’s exciting and yeah they’ll be some commentary in there as well. Yet to get my first gig booked, but we’ve negotiated the deal and everything.
“So that’s good news, it’s exciting times.”
It remains to be seen who else will be serving as color commentators for the UFC, with the current line-up including Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier, Dominick Cruz and Paul Felder.
like Felder, Bisping received praise for his color commentary performances while serving in that capacity during Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series.
