Joe Rogan Won’t Appear On ESPN Broadcasts

The UFC got off to a new start on the ESPN network at the start of the year, but one important member of the UFC’s broadcasting team won’t be coming along for the ride – long-time color commentator Joe Rogan.

During the latest episode of his ‘Fight Companion’ podcast for UFC On ESPN 1, Rogan confirmed that he won’t be doing any ESPN shows, but he will still be calling the UFC’s pay-per-view events.

“I’m not interested,” Rogan told Brendan Schaub, Bryan Callen and Eddie Bravo. “I would take this for zero money over being in Phoenix right now. Although I would like to see those fights live and call those fights live, I’m good with 10 a year. 10 a year is what I like. Once a month, two months off.”

This is essentially the arrangement Rogan has been operating under for a while now as he also backed out of doing UFC On FOX broadcasts near the tail-end of that broadcasting deal.

There was a time when Rogan was talking about giving up doing UFC commentary completely, but on Saturday night he confirmed that’s no longer the case.

“Listen, man, I was thinking I was on my way out, but I still love it. And I love it way more now because I don’t have to do it as much. And I love it way more now because we do this because we can do all of this shit-talking, have fun and be silly.”
