Amanda Nunes Teases Possibility Of Future Cris Cyborg Rematch

Two division UFC champion Amanda Nunes next title defense will come at bantamweight when she goes up against ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ Holly Holm at UFC 239, but if all goes well ‘The Lioness’ then plans to move up to featherweight again afterwards.

“For sure (I plan to) defend both (title’s),” Nunes said in Atlanta last week. “I will defend my belt at 135 then go up and defend my belt after at 145.”

Nunes already has a stellar record that includes wins over former champions like Ronda Rousey, Cris Cyborg, Meisha Tate, Germaine de Randamie and current flyweight champ Valentina Shevchenko, but she’s still looking to add to that list.

“Keep making history. Holly’s the only champion, the former champion, that I don’t beat yet. She’s going to be the next.”

One of Nunes biggest accomplishments to date was ending ‘Cyborg’s’ 13-year undefeated run by way of a 51 second knockout in December of last year, and though she initially appeared reluctant to entertain the possibility of a rematch with her fellow Brazilian, it seems she’s now left the door open for it to happen.

“Honestly, I think about Holly now then we’ll see next. A Cyborg rematch? Why not? We’ll see what’s next.”
