Bethe Correia Vs Sijara Eubanks Set For UFC Fight Night 159

A women’s bantamweight fight between Bethe Correia and Sijara Eubanks has been announced for UFC Fight Night 159 in Mexico City on September 21st.

For Correia the fight comes at a time when she’s won just once in her last six fights.

It’s a far cry from early in her career when a perfect 9-0 record and plenty of trash-talking led her to a title shot against Ronda Rousey back in 2015.

Of course she then infamously was KO’d by ‘Rowdy’ in just 34 seconds and she’s never regained her form since, suffering further losses to Raquel Pennington Holly Holm and Irene Aldana, together with a majority draw against Marion Reneau, while her solitary victory during this period came in 2016 when she split decisioned Jessica Eye.

As for Eubanks, She currently holds a 2-1 record in the UFC, with wins over Lauren Murphy and Roxanne Modafferi getting her off to a good start in the Octagon, though she’s since lost out to Aspen Ladd by decision back in May.

Correia vs Eubanks joins a UFC Fight Night 159 fight card that doesn’t have a main event in place as yet, but is also expected to feature a women’s strawweight fight between Carla Esparza and Alexa Grasso.
