Conor McGregor’s Manager Says He May Start Fighting More Frequently

Conor McGregor has only been fighting once a year in recent times, but that may be about to change according to his manager Audie Attar.

“When you look back to when he was winning fights, he was fighting often,” Attar told the South China Morning Post. “He wasn’t fighting once a year, he was fighting often, he was staying active.

“He never has to fight one fight more in his life. At the end of the day, that’s the thing people forgot about him; he actually is a competitor. He dares to do things differently.

“…I think that fighting once a year for the last couple of years, it’s almost like it’s grown his appetite to stay active. In any sport, the more reps you take, the better you get…”

That could be music to the UFC’s ears and there’s plenty of fights out there for the superstar, while staying more focused on his fight career may help keep the 31-year-old out of trouble outside of the Octagon, as the majority of his issues have come while he’s been inactive.

That being said, given the money he’s made McGregor never has to fight again and he could change his mind at any time, so for now the UFC will no doubt just be hoping to ensure that he does stick to his original plan to fight in January, with Attair stating that talks are still ongoing.

“I would say that talks have been progressing. We’ve met them, we’re in close communication with them. I would hope that an announcement could happen in the coming weeks, but at the end of the day, it’s still a work in progress.”
