Following last night’s UFC On ESPN 10 event in Las Vegas the recpients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion the UFC dished out four ‘Performance Of The Night’ awards, and unsurprisingly, three went to the trio of fights that kicked off the evening’s entertainment in style with fast finishes.
The slew of stoppages began with the first fight of the night, which saw Christian Aguillera stop Anthony Ivy in just 59 seconds with a barrage of blows after initially stunning him with a right hand.
In the next fight, Tyson Nam continued the theme by taking only 32 seconds to render Zarrukh Adashev unconscious with a single punch to ensure his performance bonus award.
Then a fired-up Mariya Agipova remarkably managed to keep the ball rolling by dropping Hannah Cifers with a head kick in their fight, then soon after managing to hop onto her back while they were back standing and force her to the mat with a rear-naked choke submission sunk in deep, forcing the tapout late in the opening round.
Alas, the rest of the card couldn’t maintain the high bar set by those stoppages, but later on in the main card Marvin Vettori did secure the other performance bonus with a first round rear-naked choke submission victory over Karl Roberson.
