Ovince Saint Preux landed a counter punch to knockout Alonzo Menifield in the second round of their co-main event tonight at UFC Fight Night 176.
Round One:
Menifield immediately wades in with a punch and tries to clinch up. They quickly go back to striking range though.
Glancing leg kick from OSP. Now a left hand that hits the guard. Menifield swings for the fences. left hand for OSP.
Front kick to the body attempted by OSP and Menifield counters with a punch. Menifield into the clinch and marches OSP over to the cage.
They break apart with Menifield unleashing a few punches. Solid body kick from OSP. Now a front kick to the midsection too.
Swing and a miss from OSP. Head kick attempt from Menifield just comes off the arm. Good one-two for OSP through the guard.
Cuffing left hand from OSP. Front kick to the body from him. Another lands. Leg kick for Menifield. Another body kick for Saint Preux.
OSP swatting out with his lengthy jab and then Menifield counters with a right hand. Again the front kick to the body from OSP as Menifield counters with a punch.
Body kick for OSP. He lands a front kick to the midsection again. Menifield with a punch that gets a cheer from his corner, though it appeared to come off the guard of OSP. However, Menifield then follows up with another couple of punches that do land nicely.
Round Two:
Low leg kick for Menifield. He lands again. Hard kick from OSP. Front kick to the body for him. Missed punch from OSP. he tries a head kick that misses too.
Again with the front kick to the body from OSP and then an inside leg kick. Solid leg kick from Menifield. Body kick for OSP.
Nice spinning body kick lands for OSP. Again with the front kick to the body. Another scores. Head kick attempt from OSP misses. Another leg kick. Glancing jab and then the kick to the leg again.
Front kick yet again. Almost exclusively kicks from OSP here. He does land a jab though and a right hand to prove me wrong. Then back to the front kick to the body.
Menifield with a right hand, but misses a left. OSP appears to slip as Menifield throws another punch.
Menifield lands a body punch, but then OSP counters with a left hook to the jaw and Menifield falls face first onto the mat, signalling a big KO victory for Saint Preux out of nowhere at 4.07mins of the second round!
