Conor McGregor Arrested For Attempted Sexual Assault In Corsica

Conor McGregor has been taken into police custody in Corsica following allegations of attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition.

“Following a complaint filed on September 10 denouncing acts that could be described as attempted sexual assault and sexual exhibition, Mr. Conor Anthony McGregor was the subject of a hearing by the police,” a statement from the prosecutor reads.

“Conor McGregor vigorously denies any accusations of misconduct,” a representative for McGregor told TMZ Sport. “He has been interviewed and released.”

The 32-year-old former featherweight and lightweight UFC champion had been preparing to embark on a 180km voyage from Corsica to Monaco along with the Princess Charlene of Monaco today in a charity event aiming to raise awareness for water safety, but he’s now had to withdraw from participating as a result of his arrest.

The allegations come just a month after McGregor became engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Dee Devlin, who he’s been with since long before he became a UFC superstar and was also in Corsica at the time of his arrest.

Back in June, McGregor declared that he was retiring from the sport, but having also done so several times in the past most believed that it was simply a matter of time before he returned to the Octagon.

In fact, just yesterday, McGregor revealed that he was taking a USADA drug test, which means that he’s still considered an active UFC fighter despite his retirement claims.
