Chris Weidman is the latest fighter to test positive for Covid-19 and that means his upcoming fight against Uriah Hall has had to be postponed.
The fight was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 258 on February 13th, but if Weidman is well enough then it will now go ahead at UFC 261 on April 24th instead.
When the bout actually does take place it will be the second time these two have locked horns, with their first encounter happening all the way back in 2010 when they were both up-and-comers in the Ring Of Combat promotion, with Weidman emerging victorious via first round TKO on that occasion.
Of course Weidman would later go on to become the UFC’s middleweight champion, but he’s had a rough run over the past few years, including going through a period in which he lost five out of six fights, all by way of strikes.
However, he finally managed to get a much needed win under his belt back in August when he defeated Omari Akhmedov by unanimous decision.
As for Hall, he has enjoyed better form of late, putting together a three-fight winning streak against Bevon Lewis, Antonio Carlos Junior and most recently Anderson Silva.
Weidman vs. Hall would join a UFC 261 card that currently has no other major fights attached to it at this stage.
