Following last night’s UFC On ESPN 21 event in Las Vegas the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
With a lot of big finishes on last night’s card, the UFC opted to leave aside a ‘Fight Of The Night’ award and instead choose four ‘Performance Of The Night’ winners instead.
Among them was Max Griffin who initially made a big impact in the opening round with a piston-like right hand that sent Song Kenan staggering backwards, and then followed it up with a left hand, right hook combo that knocked him out cold.
Adrian Yanez was another main card bonus winner, increasingly showing off his very slick, technical counter-striking against Gustavo Lopez, leading up to a right hand counter early in the third round for the walk-off KO victory.
Grant Dawson had already appeared to be on his way to a decision victory against Leonardo Santos when he unleashed a vicious volley of ground-and-pound in the dying stages of the final round and KO’d his opponent with just one second to go!
Bruno Silva wouldn’t take no for an answer after he first rocked JP Buys during the second round of their preliminary card fight and continued to relentlessly pursue him in search of a finish, putting him down several times until he finally secured the TKO stoppage.
