Police bodycam footage has emerged of the now infamous night last year when Jon Jones was inducted into the UFC’s Hall Of Fame in Las Vegas, only to then be arrested on suspicion of domestic violence and tampering with a vehicle just hours later.
The video confirms previous reporters that upon his arrest Jones was belligerent, argued with police officers and at one point even headbutted a patrol vehicle.
Police had initially been called to the hotel Jones was staying at with his family after his long-time girlfriend and mother of his two children Jesse Moses appeared at the front desk with blood coming from her nose and mouth.
In a later statement, Moses admitted to police that Jones had “got a little physical” with her after returning to their hotel room in the early hours of the morning after the HOF ceremony to get $10,000 so he could go back out to a strip club.
Jones’ domestic violence charges were later dropped and he pled no-contest to a destruction of property charge, leading to a $750 fine and an order to attend anger management classes.
The former UFC light-heavyweight champion has previously indicted that he is looking to finally make a move up to heavyweight this year after taking time out to adjust to the bulking up process, and is believed to have his heart set on an immediate title shot if his pay demands are met.
Jones is considered one of the greatest fighters of all-time in the sport, but at the same time has also proven to be one of MMA’s most troubled stars, having now been in trouble with the police on multiple occasions over the years.
