Alexander Gustafsson will no longer fight against Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at the UFC Fight Night 100 event in Brazil on November 19th due to an injury.
According to the Swedish fighters camp, Gustafsson has suffered a recurrence of a back injury that’s caused him trouble in the past, leaving him with no choice but to pull out of the fight.
A such, the UFC have now drafted in Ryan Bader to fight ‘Lil Nog’ in the main event of the show instead.
This won’t be the first time these two light-heavyweight’s have locked horns, with Bader having previously defeated Nogueira by unanimous decision back in 2010.
In more recent times Bader has won six of his last seven fights, with his only loss during that period coming by knockout in the opening round of his fight with Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson in January of this year.
‘Darth’ has since bounced back with a KO victory against Ilir Latifi however, and is currently ranked No.4 in the division.
As for Nogueira, the 40 year-old veteran’s appearances in the Octagon have become few and far between due to injury woes, leaving him with a 2-2 record over the past five years.
All going well this will be his second fight of 2016 though, having TKO’d Patrick Cummins back in May.
