Anthony Johnson will headline World Series Of Fighting 7 opposite Mike Kyle on December 7th as the promotion heads to Canada for the first time.
Johnson Vs Kyle was actually supposed to be the main event for WSOF’s 6th event a few weeks ago, but Johnson pulled out injured and was replaced by Andrei Arlovski.
Kyle lost to Arlovski by decision, so its a little surprising to now see him back on headline duties, but it’s too be expected given WSOF’s limited roster.
Nevertheless Kyle is still a decent test for Johnson who actually defeated Arlovski himself earlier this year and is currently on a five fight winning streak.
Ideally he should be fighting at a higher level though and it’s perhaps a little surprising that he hasn’t yet re-signed with the UFC who originally let him go back in 2012 due to a series of failures to make the welterweight limit.
Not so long ago Dana White appeared open to the idea of ‘Rumble’ returning after reinventing himself as a light-heavyweight / heavyweight fighter and if he keeps winning it’ll surely only be a matter of time before he does so.
Also freshly announced for the WSOF 7 fight card is a previously canceled middleweight tournament semi-final between Elvis Mutapcic and Jesse Taylor.
