Anthony Johnson Wins By Decision In Titan FC Debut; Now Contemplating 205lb Move

Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson was yet again making the headlines for a failed attempt to make weight this week as he got ready for his debut at Titan FC 22, but he did still manage to notch up a victory on his record.

Facing another former UFC fighter Dave Branch, Johnson earned a unanimous decision victory, 30-27 on all three judges scorecards.

The bout had originally been scheduled to be fought at 185lbs, but just days before it was set to take place it was switched to a 195lb catchweight due to ‘Rumble’s’ continued weight issues which in the past forced him to miss weight on three separate occasions in the UFC, eventually leading to him being fired from the promotion.

On this occasion Johnson weighed in at 194lbs while Branch tipped the scales at 189lbs.  Titan FC had initially tried to downplay the issue, but after the fight ‘Rumble’ admitted that he was to blame.

I was 10 pounds away and my body shut down,” Johnson revealed.

In all honesty it’s still baffling how Johnson managed to get himself into this situation again given that it was only back in October of last year that he was still fighting at 170lbs.

His latest error in judgement won’t have done anything for his chances of getting back to the UFC anytime soon, and the fighter has admitted that he’s now going to look into the possibility of fighting at 205lbs next time out as he continues to try to get his career back on track.
