Anthony Wint made a successful start to his UFC career tonight with a 1st round arm-triangle submission finish of Terrance Chatman after being recruited from the Contender Series just over a week ago.
Round One
Wint with plenty of fakes. He punches to the body and then head. Now a low kick.
Both men throw left hands at the same time. Wint works for a takedown, but Chatman manages to prevent that just before hitting the mat. Wint tries to hoist him up, but nothing doing and they now jockey for position from the clinch against the cage.
Wint goes for a single-leg takedown and lands it. Chatman trying for a kimura off his back. Chatman starting to roll with this, but Wint moves position to prevent it. Chatman continues to try to work the kimura regardless for a while, then gives up on it.
Wint now working for an arm-triangle choke as he shifts swiftly off to the side. The positioning doesn’t look perfect, but he’s squeezing tight and when the ref goes in to check on Chatman he quickly realizes that he’s out at 4.29mins of the 1st round!
