Bellator 72: Quick Results

Bellator continued with their sporadic ‘summer series’ of events last night with a relatively stacked card of fights.

In the main event Karl Amoussou emerged as Bellator’s latest welterweight tournament winner after making short work of Bryan Baker in the final, taking his back on the feet and dropping down for an inverted heel hook finish just 56 seconds into the fight.

He’ll now go on to fight welterweight champion Ben Askren at a later show, and that should be a good fight.

Paul Daley made his Bellator debut in the co-main event, and he quickly brushed Rudy Bears aside with his superior striking, softening him up with knees and hooks to the head from the clinch before an uppercut took Bears legs out from under him at the half-way mark of the first round.
