Bellator Announced 4 Man 205lb Tournament Feat. ‘Rampage’ Jackson And ‘King Mo’

Bellator are gearing up for the start of their 10th season on February 28th and they are aiming to hit the ground running with the start of a four-man light-heavyweight tournament featuring Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal headlining the opening show on Spike TV.

‘Rampage’ takes on former Bellator 205lb champion Christian M’Pumbu on one side of the tournament bracket that evening, while ‘King Mo’ faces Mikhail Zayats who’s currently 3-1 in the promotion.

Naturally it would appear Bellator’s hope here is that former UFC champion ‘Rampage’ and former Strikeforce title holder ‘King Mo’ will collide in the tournament finale, though there’s no guarantees that will be the case.

‘Rampage’ got off to a solid enough start to his Bellator career with a first round TKO victory over Joey Beltran at the tail end of last year that helped somewhat to banish the memory of a three-fight losing streak in the UFC prior to that.

‘King Mo’ on the other hand has failed to live up to expectations in the Bellator cage so far, with Emanuel Newton KO’ing him in his debut, then defeating him again for the interim 205lb title later in the year, though he did manage to claim a couple of victories sandwiched in-between times.

Whether the tournament goes according to plan or not, ‘Rampage’ drew 1.1 million viewers for his Bellator debut on Spike TV and there’s enough intrigue here to suggest that their Season 10 debut at Bellator 110 will be a ratings success too.
