Cat Zingano is moving up to featherweight and her first fight will be against Megan Anderson at UFC 232 in Las Vegas on December 29th.
The 36-year-old Zingano is coming off a unanimous decision win over Marion Reneau back in July – a win that finally ended a three-fight losing streak against Ronda Rousey, Julianna Pena and Ketlen Viera for the former bantamweight title contender.
Earlier this week Zingano revealed that she currently weighs 160lbs and is now stepping up to the 145lb weight class where dominant champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino currently rules the roost.
As for the 28-year-old Anderson, she is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Holly Holm in her UFC debut back in June.
Prior to that Anderson was fighting for Invicta FC, where she held the interim featherweight title and was later awarded the undisputed belt.
During her Invicta run the Australian compiled a 4-2 record and overall holds an 8-3 career record to date.
Zingano Vs Anderson joins a UFC 232 fight card that will be headlined by the return of Jon Jones in a rematch with Alexander Gustafsson, while in the co-main event the aforementioned Cris ‘Cyborg’ defends her 145lb title against bantamweight queen Amanda Nunes.
