Conor McGregor Blasts Dana White For Saying Khabib Nurmagomedov Is ‘The Man’

Conor McGregor used to be the apple of Dana White’s eye, but in a recent interview he casts shade on the Irish superstar, and he’s not happy about it.

“Khabib is the man now,” White told the Boston Globe. “Conor isn’t the man anymore, so Khabib gets to sit back and call the shots.”

The statement came in the same interview that White also shot down in flames McGregor’s declaration that he would fight Frankie Edgar in December, and it’s clear that his attitude is getting under the skin of ‘The Notorious.’

“Who’s not the man?” McGregor ranted in response to White’s statement. “Your man had that marquee event did he? More like an event in a marquee. A tent in the fucking sand it was. Keep spoofing to your self horse. Jock strap sniffer championships.”

Given the extremely close relationship that White and McGregor have typically enjoyed over the years it will be interesting to see how this friction between them plays out.

It could be that White hopes he can rattle McGregor’s cage enough to re-focus him on his fighting career in an attempt to regain his crown, but at the same time there’s always a chance it may have the opposite effect.
