Cris Cyborg has admitted to being concerned about her future in the promotion after her division’s rankings were removed from the UFC’s official website after it was updated yesterday.
“I saw that they took my category off the site,” Cyborg told ESPN Brazil. “I do not know how much that will change anything. If you do not [have] my category, you are indirectly cutting me. So I think a lot of things are going to happen.
”Those who follow my career know about the struggle to get my UFC weight category.”
The division’s disappearance from the rankings comes not long after Cyborg’s 13-year unbeaten run finally came to an end with a surprisingly swift 51 second KO loss against Amanda Nunes in December.
However, Cyborg has made it clear that she intends to keep fighting, whether that’s in the UFC or elsewhere.
”I want to fight for five more years. I like to fight, it’s my job, I do not have any injuries or anything that is preventing me from fighting,” Cyborg said.
”This may try to erase my category, but it does not erase who I am. People are with me wherever I go. Wherever I’m fighting, my star will shine like it has throughout my career.”
