Curtis Blaydes Vs Justin Willis Announced For UFC On ESPN+ 6

A heavyweight clash between Curtis Blaydes and Justin Willis has been announced for UFC On ESPN+ 6, which takes place on March 23rd in Nashville.

Blaydes saw a six-fight unbeaten stretch come to an end last time out against Francis Ngannou, who TKO’d him in just 45 seconds back in November.

Coincidentally, that was Blaydes first loss since the first time he met his nemesis Ngannou back in 2016, suffering a TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage following the second round on that occasion.

However, Blaydes had racked up some big wins inbetween those two defeats, beating the likes of Alexey Oleynik, Mark Hunt and Alistair Overeem.

That leaves the 27-year-old Blaydes with a 5-2 (+1nc) record in the UFC and has him placed No.4 in the heavyweight ranks heading into this next fight, where he’ll be going up against Willis, who currently stands at No.10 in the division.

‘Big Pretty’ has an overall 8-1 record and that includes four victories in the UFC to date, with the most notable without question being his unanimous decision victory over Mark Hunt in December.

Blaydes Vs Willis joins a UFC On ESPN+ 6 card that’s set to be headlined by a welterweight fight between Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson and former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.
